Some people go into the chat, I'm lonely.

I haven't used irc for years, I'm in many groups but no one really uses Steam chat that I see, its a shame really. I'll visit the irc channel.

They can't since the game is still in alpha and doesn't meet Steam's requirement.

Just wanted to add that on Steam there's SOASE Rebellion Beta and Endless Space Alpha so it's not because Towns is alpha.
But Steam has very weird so-called 'requirements' for games.

I have short story though to lighten the mood.
I finally got around to buying Towns (was playing the demo and waiting for a little more polish.)
I decided to buy it on Gamersgate, but after downloading noticed GG hadn't updated to the newest patch yet, so I purchased it again on BMT Micro because I couldn't wait for the patch.
I'm glad I bought it twice, now I have a backup. If I could I would buy the game a thousand times to support it, I only wish I had that kind of money.

Definitely worth it, I've always wanted a game like this one, the next closest to this is '8th Wonder of the World' from the Cultures series.
I really hope this game doesn't die out because it really doesn't deserve to.

Steam Greenlight

This could be a great opportunity to get Towns onto Steam. (Greenlight will probably launch at the end of August.)

I'm just wondering but why do you need 'Steam'? You've already go the game.

Obviously this comes from a guy who has little to do with 'Steam' and I understand that in marketing perspective 'Steam' could prove to be a wise decision (to sell their game there), but besides that? I am surely missing the good points (besides ridiculous discounts) but what makes 'Steam' so cool or good? if you would explain me some of the perks please.

Because it has such a large catalogue of games, and millions of active users. Because of its huge user base it would be excellent if Towns was in there. Also, because of the huge buying power valve has (with the popularity of steam) people get great deals on games.

Basically it's like a Lamborghini vs a ford. Lambourghinis may offer better things from time to time, but the ease of use, practicality, general availability and often lower price, the ford is more popular and in most situations better.

Steam does have its downsides though, the main one for us being its odd policy on games that are in alpha.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm aware of 'Steams' popularity and it could perhaps certainly improve the further sales of the game. But what I meant is that, if you already own a copy of 'Towns' why the need for 'Steam'?
