Ubuntu 13.04 Unable to access jarfile lib/xaos.jar

Terminal always gives me "Unable to access jarfile lib/xaos.jar".
Now before you go and say "Have you extracted it all" or "Are all the files in the same folder?" Yes. They are.
What other reasons would cause this? Does the Towns folder need to be in a specific place?

How are you executing the game? As in, how are you running it?

Sometimes you need to place:

Code: Select all
cd PATHTOCURRENTFOLDER

Where PATHTOCURRENTFOLDER is the path to the folder where towns.sh resides. This was fixed in an ealier build but is perhaps broken on some systems again, we'll have to revisit the issue

Thankyou changing the directory and then doing the command "bash towns.sh" made it work.

Actually... the sh script can and needs to be updated to take into account the path.
so what I would do:
before line 40, add the following "cd $SCRIPTPATH"
after line 1, add the following "SCRIPTPATH=$( cd "$(dirname "$0")" ; pwd -P )"
now you can run it, even without using
$bash towns.sh
just do
$/dir/to/sh/towns.sh

Here's the updated script: http://pastebin.com/fjUh1QNb
