[REQ] Warcraft 3 Peasant Sounds

Postby budynekm » Tue Jul 10, 2012 9:28 pm

This might be the most important idea I've ever had. When one makes a command, have the villagers say a Warcraft 3 peasant dialogue quote, just imagine how great it would be.

"Yes m'lord"

"Alright."

"More Work?"

"What is it?"

I'm so giddy right now.

(For you heathens who never played wc3 or somehow managed to forget. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoMhMZZjbGg )

The nostalgia only allowed me to get about 20 seconds through that video.

Search for "sound update mod" - someone has already done one. You might be able to ask them for help, although I'm not sure if you can add new sounds for actions wich didn't previously have them - it might be hardcoded.

Presumably, you'll eventually be able do this though. I love your idea, as long as there aren't copyright issues... still, if you get it working then it'll be a roflol fest
What's that you're eating? A nice, juicy apple? You weren't supposed to eat that you fool, you were supposed to make it into a pie! - last words recorded words of Francis D'Avre before he went looking for snowcherries, but found a hungry Yeti instead.

Sounds are hardcoded, there are 2 ways to make an action activate a sound.
This is done by either starting the actions name with "qtill" or "qchop" this will make it so the chopping or tilling sound is played during the actions <wait> tag.

So to play these sounds we have to change the chopping and/or tilling sound.
